Alex received his BSc in Psychology from Heidelberg University, followed by a MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience from the LMU Munich. He joined our lab in October 2020 and concurrently studied Statistics with a minor in Computer Science at the LMU. To model human reasoning in sparsely specified tasks such as psychometric matrix reasoning tests, Alex uses symbolic AI in combination with program induction. He aims to disentangle cognitive models with identical I/O predictions by using MEG-based decoding and by leveraging the compositionality of human thought.
